About
I am originally from California and Montana in the western United States, where I was raised in a small-town environment that shaped my early understanding of community, education, and opportunity. Transitioning from that setting into an international career sparked a deep passion for global engagement and the ways that cross-cultural perspectives can contribute to broader problem-solving and personal growth.
I have pursued this passion through both my language learning and my professional work in international education. I have over three years of experience leading youth study abroad programs focused on critical language instruction, where I supported students through intensive immersion experiences, intercultural adjustment, and personal development. In addition, I have over two years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at universities in Kazakhstan as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, where I developed courses, facilitated speaking clubs, and supported students in achieving academic and professional goals.
Across these roles, I have developed strong expertise in program administration, student mentorship, and intercultural learning design. Aside from general English, my teaching focuses on academic writing, preparation for U.S. college applications, and career and academic mentorship. I have also contributed to selection processes for prestigious international programs, including serving on review committees for the Critical Language Scholarship Program and the Fulbright Student Program in Kazakhstan.
I bring extensive experience supporting language development across all four skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—in both English and Russian. I am committed to creating learning environments that empower students to engage across cultures, reflect critically on their experiences, and develop skills for global citizenship.
